Our last day in New York was a lazy day, which we started in Brooklyn at the Botanical Garden. It was a nice change after the skyscrapers of Manhattan. It opened to public some 100 years ago and its mainly Japanese themed, with Cherry trees and several ponds with small bridges and aquatic plants.
After returning to Manhattan, we visited an other garden, the Madison Square Garden. It is hosting sport events mainly for the New York Knicks (basketball) and the New York Rangers (hockey), seating up to 20000 spectators depending on the set up off the arena. There is also a theater below arena offering 2000-5000 for concerts or recently even for the famous Cirque the Soleil.
From here we took a bus driving north to Harlem. Unfortunately I don t have pics about this part. The idea was only to drive around with the bus and not stepping out in Harlem, but by chance that was not possible. As the terminus of the bus line was in Harlem we had to step out and walk 2 blocks to the departure. Since my change was over, we had to get into a McDonalds for change, where the staff was working behind bullet proof windows. It was quite an adventure....
The rest of the day we spent in shops and walks around the southern rim of the Central Park. One our favourite was the Disney Store....
With the evening bus we left New York after 3 amazing days and returned to Uncle Steve in Rocky Hill.
