I took today the 9.10 am (GMT) Continental flight with a 2 hour layover in Newark to Denver.
In New York I spent the time with shooting photos about the siluette of Manhattan incl. the Freedom tower on ground Zero, airplanes and my favourite comics figure Betty Boop.
After 16 hours of traveling I rent a full size car from Budget, booked for an incredible 17USD/ day+tax+insurance just the day before.
Still the booking system is tricky, because at the counter the lady tried to top up the booking with an other extra insurance for 27USD/day and a higher category car just for 30USD dif a day, arriving at more than double the price as indicated on the booking receipt. I rejected carefully all her “advantageous” offers.
At the end I ve got a KIA Optima and was driving 100 miles into the Rocky mountains. At the moment is midnight local time, which means that I am on my way for almost 24 hours, without any substantial sleep, so it is time to go to bed.
