Today we continued our Jeep tour to highlands close to the Chillean border. We came close to 5000m high. Oxygen levels drop by altitude a lot and we experienced first signs of altitude sickness already the day before.
The local people have a very godd medicine for this and everything else. They chewing coca leafs the whole day. It is sweaping away all your physical and mental problems.
The first stretch of trip drove along some volcano lands and lagunas with flamingos. It is a very lonelly landscape still full with life in different forms.
The green balls are a kind of moss, which is normally growing around the sea. Here you find it at 4500m and they survive 3 years without any water. People living around use it to make fire.
Driving even higher, we reached a desert at 5000m, which was rather look like Mars, than any place I ve been before.
Be surprised my friend found water on Mars.
